Where would you go when the odds ain't winning? What would you do when the turmoil is giving you a spin? Why can't I ever win? Leaving behind all the questions and answers and commentaries Hoping to find something value to fill out the void Taking these boots, they are made for hiking Packing the knapsack, taking off the wedding ring Watch me go, I'm the King Leaving behind all my loved ones and friends and commitments Hoping to find something value to fill out the void Leaving behind all my loved ones and friends and commitments Hoping to find, hitchhike, someone new to utilize It wasn't the first and it won't be the last time I'm feeling the thirst and your love ain't worth a dime So what if it is a crime? Leaving behind all the questions and answers and commentaries Hoping to find something value to fill out the void Leaving behind all my loved ones and friends and commitments Hoping to find, hitchhike, someone new to utilize, Fill the void, will you please?

Trumpets and violins oh they are covering the floor I know I mustn’t break them so I’m getting to the door Trough the air – trough the air The door of night is thou only thing I find I turn around and see no portals of other kind Ooh dark ages – ooh closed cages Inspiration sprouts from the seeds of sorrow Pain I know from the awe of tomorrow Ooh dark ages – ooh fearful faces Left alone denied of your love By myself the spheres I roam Ooh dark ages – ooh endless places Feel like home Reel high grown All my dreams All my fears Feel like home Reel high grown All my dreams All my fears Left alone denied of your love By myself the spheres I roam Ooh dark ages – ooh endless places

They heard some cosmic noise "It's clear, there is no choice" "The source is urgent to trace" So they launched me into outer space I receive, I pick up all these signals I keep looking constanly, through the glass (looking, constanly, through the glass) My eyes have seen wonderful things Black holes dance when the sky waves sing I receive, I pick up, through the glass In the expance this probe is away from the way I've done my mission Now beyond transmission They've had what they came for I'm lonely and have no home anymore I receive, I perceive all these signals I keep looking endlessly, through the glass Explore the inner space Find more about the human race The core, the innermost, do I have one? Too far I went and they have won Receive! Pick up! Perceive! Through the glass

Mother Earth is hanging by a thread this should be clear to every one Shattered strings are floating all around Just get a grip and you're done! Spinning up and down, living in the humdrum is well enough for the ludicrous dumb From myself I shall create the Unspinning Machine I'll break the ties, I'll live to see I open wide both my eyes Use my ears like radar It's so easy, whole wide world fills up my head I open wide both my eyes Start up the Machine! Day by day I know more and more Beauty, wisdom - I grasp one and all My head gobbles up the textile of the world It's so hilarious, enormous and spacious! Something absolute I might have forgotten don't know how to reverse the tracks Five billion every man jacks oddly gaze at me, silently Close your eyes, one by one Turn away your radar ears It doesn't ease, the world still squeezes through the head Close your eyes, one by one Stop the Machine! Stop the Machine! Day by day my knowledge overflows It's all mixed up, beauty and ugliness The universe without any strings at all glares at me in her nakedness Mother Earth is hanging by a thread this should be clear to every one Shattered strings are floating all around Just get a grip and you're done!

about

"The album brings to mind the spacey and grandiose approach of AYREON or the bombastic/melodic sound of EXPLORER'S CLUB and comes like an interesting mix of Space Rock, Heavy Prog and modern Neo Prog, where the tracks are carefully measured but at the same time quite demanding. The music relies heavily upon Sirkiä's crystalline vocals, Antti Pesonen's nice rhythm guitars and intricate solos and Jalava's diverse keyboard parts.''Ideal Standards Vol. 1'' is extremely lyrical, but it contains also plenty of good instrumental ideas with spacey synthesizers, bombastic tunes and melodic textures." -- apps79, ProgArchives.com

"As a sugar in the bottom, for my taste that is, a whopping album from Antti Pesonen and friends. There is more to come, they say (vol 2…), I can hardly wait. All in all one of the best prog-releases of the new millenium! In the music, there are similarities to Flower King, Spock’s Beard and White Willow. Heavy symphonic music with lots of air and delicacy. Great male and female vocals. Fine playing and awesome progressive arrangements. One of the best records of finnish prog-rock." 5 stars *****. -- ProgePirkka, ProgolForum

about

Contemporary Dead Finnish Music Ensemble Helsinki, Finland

CDFME is a musical community with sole purpose to bring good music to the world.
The Ensemble was born in a year 2000 out of the need to bring back some of the more ambitious and progressive music that had to go literally underground in the 1980’s-90’s.
The music is intensive symphonic rock with lots of room for air, melodic and cinematic, progressive without being pompous in a needless manner.
